ISO 50001 EMS/PMS Systems

Hino Systech Vietnam deploys EMS/PMS solutions that provide continuous, traceable energy data, fulfilling measurement and performance evaluation requirements for ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems.

Challenges facing your business

  • Data Requirements in Energy Management Systems

ISO 50001 establishes rigorous requirements for periodic measurement, monitoring, and evaluation of energy performance. Enterprises implementing an energy management system without a corresponding data infrastructure face significant obstacles when establishing energy baselines, tracking energy performance indicators, and verifying results during certification audits as well as periodic internal audits.

  • Fragmented Data Fails to Meet Periodic Monitoring Requirements

When energy data is recorded manually by shift or compiled monthly from utility bills, enterprises lack the granular data series required to isolate Significant Energy Uses (SEUs), identify variables influencing consumption, and substantiate baseline adjustments when production conditions change.

  • Burden of Data Compilation and Record Maintenance

Maintaining an energy management system requires data to be continuously updated and archived across regular cycles, not just during audit periods. When handled manually, this process incurs recurring man-hours each reporting cycle, the completeness of records depends heavily on individual personnel, and compiled figures are difficult to re-verify whenever audit clarifications arise.

Technology-Driven Solutions from Hino Systech

Our approach

  • 1

Metering Point Layout Aligned with Energy Uses

Metering schemes are engineered according to the scope defined by the enterprise’s energy management system, covering main incoming utility connections, Significant Energy Uses (SEUs), and specific load groups requiring separate monitoring. Data is collected automatically via field data acquisition devices and corresponding communication layers, with the Hino Gateway 378 managing protocol conversion across multi-vendor equipment.

  • 2

Configuration of EnPIs and Baselines on the System

The system is configured based on the Energy Performance Indicators (EnPIs) and Energy Baselines (EnBs) established by the enterprise, along with the monitoring frequency and application scope of each indicator. Accumulated data is utilized to monitor indicator trends over time and benchmark against established baselines, serving the verification step in the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle.

  • 3

Data Export for Audits and Reporting

The system archives continuous, timestamped time-series data and exports periodic reports to support internal audits, certification body assessments, and internal corporate reporting requirements. Every value in the report is traceable to its original measurement point and corresponding timeframe, satisfying data verification criteria during the audit process.

Hino Systech system solution details

  • Japanese Engineering Expertise in Energy Data Infrastructure

Hino Systech Vietnam is a 100% Japanese-invested enterprise under Hino Systech Japan (established in 1950), with over 10 years of operations in Vietnam and more than 20 Japan-trained engineers.

In ISO 50001 projects, Hino provides the metering infrastructure and energy data management system; the development of the management framework and certification audits are carried out by the enterprise in collaboration with an independent certification body. The metering layout is designed strictly according to the scope and indicator framework applied by the enterprise’s energy management system.

  • Verifiable Data Down to Individual Metering Points

Meters, data acquisition cabinets, communication networks, and EMS/PMS software are designed and deployed by a single provider, ensuring end-to-end data continuity across all system layers. Every value on the report clearly identifies the measurement point, device configuration, and recorded timeframe, meeting all data validation requirements during internal and certification audits. Hino has successfully implemented energy metering and monitoring infrastructure for large-scale facilities, including Luxshare-ICT (~20,048 kWp) and Vikohasan Ha Nam (3,200 kWp).

  • Shared Infrastructure for Multiple Management Requirements

From the same data source serving ISO 50001, enterprises can monitor electricity costs by area, provide consumption data for GHG emissions and ESG reporting, and evaluate the return on investment of implemented energy-efficiency measures.

Data is continuously updated and exported based on required parameters, replacing manual data compilation prior to each audit. Consequently, recurring maintenance costs for the energy management system are reduced, minimizing reliance on assigned personnel.
